Rizla Suzuki’s 2007 GSX-R1000 British Superbike was unveiled at a sunny Almeria circuit in southern Spain today at the beginning of a three day intensive test for riders Cal Crutchlow and Chris Walker.
The new 2007 Rizla Suzuki features bold new styling to match the sharp angles and aggressive nature of the all-new GSX-R1000. Steeped in traditional Rizla racing blue, the bike received the thumbs up from the team and riders.
The riders spent the day familiarising themselves with the twisty and challenging 4.3km long circuit, completing only a dozen or so laps each. Both riders posted competitive lap times regardless of their short appearance on circuit and are itching to get stuck into the test proper tomorrow.
Cal said:
“I think my bike looks sweet. It wasn’t finished until lunch-time today and when I got on it for the first time there was a real tingle of excitement. I have never visited Almeria before so I spent most of today learning the track. It’s not an easy circuit to learn as there are plenty of turns and blind crests, but by the end of the day I was happy and can’t wait to get stuck in tomorrow.”

“I think the bike looks ballistic, so much better than any version before it’s not true. I love the twin exit exhausts, it just balances the bike up in comparison to a single sided exhaust. It looks the business. It was good to have an easy day at the track and we found out a little bit more about the Rizla Suzuki that will mean we can start the test at pace first thing in the morning.”
Rizla Suzuki continues to test at Almeria for two more days before making the short journey to the nearby Guadix circuit for a further two day test later in the week.
